In this fair housing assessment, respondents were asked about their neighborhood and the factors that influenced them to move there. They were also asked about the things they disliked about their neighborhood and what factors might influence them to move somewhere else.
One in five respondents reported that they had experienced housing discrimination when in the process of buying or renting a home. Discrimination was more commonly reported in rental process than purchasing, and African-Americans are twice as likely to report housing discrimination as non-Hispanic whites.
